NFL Week 12 Wrap Up & Contest Results

November 29th, 2011 | Posted by JoeBxCSNW in Sports

Twelve weeks in the books, 11 games played and with only 5 to go, teams need to win out their division. The Packers are pretty much set in the NFC. The AFC is still competitive for that #1 & #2 seed so it’s really going to get interesting. Injuries continue to pile and could Brett Favre suit up once again? Roger Goodell has some fines to hand out as well. Hit the jump to find out what happened!

Week 12 Results:

TNF: Green Bay Packers (27) at Detroit Lions (15)
**The Lions were probably the last team to hand the Packers their first loss. They’ll probably go undefeated this season, but can they finish with another Super Bowl win? Their defense sure as hell thinks so. Rodgers isn’t stepping down either. Speaking of stepping, Suh will be fined and suspended for stomping on another player. Tasteless..

TNF: Miami Dolphins (19) at Dallas Cowboys (20)
**Cowboys sneak one out with a last second field goal. Dolphins blew it.. they had the game in the bag.

TNF: San Francisco (6) at Baltimore Ravens (16)
**Ted Ginn’s called back touchdown was crucial as the Ravens were able to hang on in this field goal game.

Minnesota Vikings (14) at Atlanta Falcons (24)
**The score reflects a far closer game then it should have been. Vikings almost snuck back in with a kickoff return but a late touchdown by the Falcons secured the win.

Cleveland Browns (20) at Cincinnati Bengals (23)
**A division game that came down to the wire. The Browns were winning early but Andy Dalton threw some touchdowns to get them back in the game and win by a field goal.

Carolina Panthers (27) at Indianpolis Colts (19)
**This was probably the last game that the Colts could have won. They now face the Patriots, Ravens, Titans, Texans, and Jags. Maybe they can beat the Jags but as of right now, looks like they will have the perfect losing season.

Houston Texans (20) at Jacksonville Jaguars (13)
**And another quarterback goes down for the Texans. Leinart actually didn’t look bad in his start but his broken collarbone has him sidelined for the year. They still want to compete and win in the playoffs. Brett Favre anyone?

Buffalo Bills (24) at New York Jets (28)
**This was a pretty good game. Lots of touchdowns.. all through the air. However a questionable celebration by Stevie Johnson could have cost them the game. Watch the highlights… he could have been the hero, but ended up being a zero. Which he will probably write a few times when he gets fined for reenacting Plaxico’s shooting and Holmes plane crashing.

Arizona Cardinals (23) at St. Louis Rams (20)
**I don’t care who is at the helm or which superstar is on your team. Division games are always competitive. Cardinals were able to sneak this one out with Beanie Wells career day on the ground and Peterson returning his 4th punt for a touchdown.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (17) at Tennessee Titans (23)
**CJ2K finally has a breakout game and rushes for 190 yards. Shit ton of turnovers in this game was the deciding factor.

Chicago Bears (20) at Oakland Raiders (25)
**Special teams all day for the Raiders. Seabass makes 6 field goals. Lechler boots a 80 yard punt. Defense also got 3 picks. Oakland’s offense struggled though and the Bears should actually be okay without Cutler. They should still be able to get in as a Wild Card.

Washington Redskins (23) at Seattle Seahawks (17)
**The 11th man wasn’t enough for keep the Redskins from stealing one on the road.

New England Patriots (38) at Philadelphia Eagles (20)
**Vince Young and the Eagles were out to an early 10-0 lead. But then Brady got comfortable and decided to throw 3 touchdowns. As much as I hate to admit it, they are a force to be reckoned with in the AFC.

Denver Broncos (16) at San Diego Chargers (13)
**It’s official, atleast to me, Norv Turner will be gone after this season. He’s calling plays that he called in Oakland thinking it will get him by. 3 rushing plays then kick the field goal? From 50+ yards out too? C’mon man! Tebow is now 5-1 as a starter but he’s not the reason they won. Great defense and a strong rushing attack by Willis McGahee helped with the win.

SNF: Pittsburgh Steelers (13) at Kansas City Chiefs (9)
**A much closer game then expected. Polamalu went out with a concussion early on but with no offense from the Chiefs, it wasn’t a problem. Expect Kyle Orton to start next week for the Chiefs.

MNF: New York Giants (24) at New Orleans Saints (49)
**Drew Brees and the Saints offense had their way with the Giants. They just put up touchdown after touchdown. Brees was flawless and is now on a list with Marino and Peyton Manning holding a couple records. Dude is fkin’ amazing!

Game(s) of the Week: Jets over Bills, Packers over Lions, Cowboys over Dolphins
Upset of the Week: Broncos over Chargers
Ass Whoopin’ of the Week: Saints over Giants

Week 12 Picks Results: So I didn’t post up anything for picks for this previous week for two reasons. First off it was Thanksgiving weekend and second, due to the lack of interest I won’t be continuing it this season. Maybe I’ll do something during the playoffs.

Until next week…
