This week’s Mixtape Monday pick goes to Wale. “The Mixtape About Nothing” was one of the first projects that made me into a Folarin Fan. #MixtapeMonday
Not only has he grown as an artist I believe that his Net Worth has grown as well. But, some might argue that he is gone forever. “The Mixtape About Nothing” is modeled after Seinfeld, Which is essentially a show about Nothing. Even though we haven’t seen this wale in a long while, I believe we still got that “Go-Go Folarin” still but either way this is probably my favorite piece of work from him. The tape was cohesive, touched on a bunch of topics, race, working, relationships, style and more. A bulk of the tapes production is done by DC’S production duo, Best Kept Secret which gave the tape its unique and organic sound.
A couple years later he ended up dropping a sequel to this tape “More About Nothing”, which was dope too but it lost the Seinfeld feel to me. Ehh. If you know what Wale was about before he went over to MMG then you know how much this tape gave him a look. He even got me to be a fan of Seinfeld, which is crazy because I’ve never watched the show a day in my life. Enjoy the tape.
