How you doing today man? Everything going aight?

-Wassup bro, yeah everything solid on this end.

Before we get started, let’s get a quick intro about yourself.

-Lil Fatts to the hood, Joey Fatts to these rappers. A young East Side nigga with a story to tell.

So how long have you been working on your craft as an MC?

-For about 5 or 6 months.

Other rappers say they have been writing and making music since they were kids. Do you feel like your at a disadvantage or advantage starting your music career at your age?

-A disadvantage no doubt, i still have a lot of shit to learn. I wish i would have started as a kid this shit probably would have kept me out of trouble lol.

Although you’ve been rapping for a short amount of time, do you feel it comes naturally? Or do you feel that it takes some time?

-It’s natural, but it take time as well. all the shit I talk about is true so its easy to tell my story. But what takes time is developing different rhyme schemes and shit like that, you gotta have that unlimited flow cuz.

We hear other artists talk about how other genres of music influence them in their own work. Do you find the same kind of inspiration in other genres when in the studio?

-I can sit here and lie like all these other rapper niggas but to be honest i don’t listen to no other genres. Im influenced by the streets and my inspiration come from all my homies that got life who need money for a new trial.

Who are you looking forward to working with in the future?

-SchoolBoy Q, he my favorite rapper of all time. hopefully that shit happen soon he got songs comin’ out with 50 and shit he bout to be to big to fuck with me lol.

You just released the Chipper Jones EP not too long ago, are you working on a new project already? And where did the name of the EP come from?

-Yeah im not shit yet, so no breaks. i actually live in the studio now no bullshit we put a bed in that bitch. and in my city summer time gets hot we call it chipping season cause niggas be getting popped like every second………. i don’t know how to say the last part without incriminating myself the feds watching, just know im Chipper Jones.

Being in the studio, what are 3 things that you need to keep your mind focused?

-Just a few beers, im a sober head. Niggas be slippin in the studio faded with jewelry on and shit thats how niggas get killed. too many haters breathing right now, R.I.P Slimm Dunkin.

Do you feel like Hip Hop from the West is still being slept on? Or have artists like Kendrick Lamar, Dom Kennedy, Pac Div etc. brought the attention back?

-We gonna continue to be slept on if niggas keep acting like Dom Kennedy is tight, he a fresh as nigga don’t get me wrong but his rapping sucks. But Kendrick is definitely bringing the attention back and Pac Div don’t mention it is still tight as fuck.

Who do you have on repeat? Who NEEDS to be turned down?

- That new Ab-soul is epic, and i still got HnC on repeat. TDE is killing right now, and Dom Kennedy needs to be turned down asap.

A quick question before we finish up. Who are you taking? Heat or Thunder?

-The heat already won, but i don’t like basketball im a college football head. the NBA jokes on twitter be having a nigga entertained tho.

Any last things you want to mention? Shoutouts?

-Shoutout to my brothers Lil Boy, A$ton, Vince, Fade, and Thump. Free Big Fatts. Cutthroat Boyz.
