Jon “Bones” Jones: “The Future” (Video)

UFC 152: Jones vs. BelfortĀ is scheduled to take place on September 22, 2012 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and with the date 2 weeks away, I figure it’s the right time to take a look at both of these incredible fighters, how they match up against each other, and look back on the highlights of their careers.

Jon “Bones” Jones has been described by many as the future of mixed martial arts and with good reason. Standing at 6’4″ with a ridiculous reach of 84.5 inches, it’s not hard to see why he’s the future of MMA because his fight record speaks for itself and his performances have always left many fans wondering, “WHO CAN STOP JON JONES?” Not to mention, he is the YOUNGEST UFC champion in the history of the organization, winning the title at the age of 24, when he defeated then-champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, who is an MMA legend. The man known as “Bones” is both loved and hated by the fans but regardless of the reception he receives, he still continues to improve and even inspire those watching him. Though he does have 1 loss on his record (via disqualification), many don’t consider it a real loss and the only fighter to ever win a round against Jones is Lyoto “the Dragon” Machida. But after that round, Jones came back and not only did he defeat the Dragon, he choked him unconscious. If that’s not enough to convince you of his talent and abilities, then you need to get your head examined and request a psych test.
