UFC 152: Jones vs. Belfort is scheduled to take place on September 22, 2012 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and with the date 2 weeks away, I figure it’s the right time to take a look at both of these incredible fighters, how they match up against each other, and look back on the highlights of their careers.
Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort is one of the UFC’s most well-known fighters and as legendary as he is, he still fights like he did 15 years ago and still performs in prime condition (he’s 35 now). The man known as “the Phenom” earned his nickname when he became the youngest fighter in UFC history to earn a victory inside the octagon, doing so at the age of 19. With his lightning fast hand speed and his aggressive style, Belfort quickly established himself as one of the best boxers in mixed martial arts, earning notable wins over big names such as Tank Abbott, Wanderlei Silva, Heath Herring, Randy Couture, Kazuo Takahashi, and Rich Franklin. And with UFC 152 fast approaching, will “the Phenom” add another name to his resume by defeating Jon “Bones” Jones? Only time will tell and if records prove anything, it is that time has been on Vitor Belfort’s side as he still seems to be in his prime.
