Recently, the Ultimate Fighting Championship added yet another weight division to their already stacked stable of talented fighters. The new division? The Flyweight Division, which is 125lbs. and though that may seem like paper weight, many of the current flyweight fighters are quick to prove that they belong inside the octagon. If you think these smaller fighters aren’t strong or big enough to hang with the bigger fighters, then you’re delusional and full of it. I’m only 5’2″ and though I may be 20lbs. heavier than these guys, I can honestly say that the smaller fighters aren’t to be taken lightly, no pun intended. At 125lbs, what these guys lack in size and strength, they make up for with speed and non-stop endurance. I can go on and on about how amazing the flyweight fighters are but I’ll let the video speak for itself. Just be sure to watch UFC 152 on September 22, 2012 as the card features a match between Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson and the winner will become the UFC’s FIRST EVER FLYWEIGHT CHAMPION.
