The year was 2011 and Tyler, The Creator and the rest of the Odd Future crew was riding high off of the hype of various artists in the crew such as Earl Sweatshirt, Mellowhype, and Frank Ocean. Tyler, The Creator was busy as well with also working on his own freshman album, Goblin. Prior to the release of the album, Tyler was grabbing the attention of Hip Hop fans and various music fans alike with this over the top video Yonkers. From eating cockroaches, black pupils, and hanging himself, people couldn’t really comprehend Tyler’s whole vibe or if he was serious. Was it for shock value? Hardly. Tyler was just making music and letting his mind flow as if the whole world wasn’t watching. When Goblin came out, critical responses were mostly positive, and thus put Odd Future on the map, not only in Hip Hop, but on broadcast to the rest of the public. Two years, later the hype wasn’t as high with attention turned to other California artists. However out of the blue, Tyler dropped the visuals Domo23/Bimmer and the masses have been fiends for more. Now Tyler’s sophomore effort, Wolf, is here, but does it live up to the expectations that fans have of him ever since Goblin?

Bizness, Phantom Thrett, Curtiss King, Jansport J, Noa James, Waju and many more. Check out my thoughts on the project down below.
