Kobe-Bryant-Eric-Avar-Video-02

With basketball just around the corner, I thought it would be a good time to start warming up to the basketball weekly updates by posting something basketball related. Kobe Bryant and Creative Director, Eric Avar sit down and discuss the tech that is behind Kobe’s latest shoe, the Kobe VII.

Upon the launch of the Nike SB Eric Koston 1, a 24-pair limited edition collaboration with Kobe Bryant’s own signature sneaker made for highly sought after release. While we’re sure many missed out on the original Kobe Bryant Koston 1, this is the next best thing with the Eric Koston Premium version. The most notable difference is a different upper that eliminates the previous Kobe VI upper with a similar one-piece Black Mamba pattern. The sneaker’s inner guts still maintain the Lunarlon cushioning built directly into the removable sockliner/insole.

Lakers fans don’t need to speculate anymore because the head coaching  job has been filled. Guess who? You wouldn’t be able to if you didn’t read the title. It’s Mike Brown, former Cavs coach and 2009 Coach of the Year award winner. If you’ve been oblivious to the rumors lately, this pick up for the coaching job comes out of nowhere. With all fingers pointing towards Brian Shaw to be the successor to the great Phil Jackson, everyone was almost sure that he would get the job. However, Jim Buss has decided to take another route and go with Brown.

With Mike Brown coming to the Lakers, it could mean the elimination of Brian Shaw, Jim Cleamons, and Frank Hamblin as assistant coaches, but that isn’t certain so far. Also, the triangle offense that the team has been accustomed to for almost a decade now, could possibly be eliminated. That isn’t essentially a bad thing since that opens opportunity to actually have a team that runs plays from it’s point guard.

This is one step in the long summer ahead for the Lakers. Can Kobe work with Mike Brown? Or will egos conflict? Will the Lakers get Dwight Howard, Chris Paul, or Deron Williams? Way too many questions over this offseason, but it’s going to be interesting no matter what gets thrown at u s.

This time the 09-2010 NBA champ and Nike brand player, Kobe Bryant is getting his touches on the third pair of Nike Air Force 1 Foamposite to drop. Dressed in a one-piece eggplant foam upper, with a black cross-strap, purple heel-pull and translucent outsole. A black nubuck is used on the eyestay, while Kobe’s logo is seen on the shoes tongue tag.
