As our Neptunes collection continues, we have to say thank you again for keeping us with the series and much love for sharing, downloading and playing them. For the artwork for #9 we decided to play around the iconic Ice Cream running dog logo in which Pharrell is well known for, just a simple flip and our own spin on the design for the front cover. With this being release number 9 out of 12, we can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel. Part 9 features appearances from Fam-Lay, Nelly, Jay-Z, Kelis, Pharrell Williams, Madonna, Clipse, Mase, Cee-Lo, Kenna, Mika, Snoop Dogg, Fabolous, Justin Timberlake, Mac Miller, Yuna, Foxy Brown, N*E*R*D and even an appearance from the Ice Cream Skate Team. December 20th, 2012 | Posted by in The Other Side of the Planet - (9 Comments)Cory Townes: About a week ago, I introduced you all to a project that my friend and fellow music enthusiast Nylles of CSNoWheaties.com were going to be releasing tonight. “The Neptunes: The Other Side Of The Planet” chronicles the 20+ year career of music pioneers Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, better known as “The Neptunes”. From early production credits with Teddy Riley and SWV, to pop success with Madonna and Britney Spears, to revolutionizing the hip hop industry with collaborations with Jay-Z, N.O.R.E, and The Clipse, this project will highlight the diversity of the Neptunes sound. This is something that we put a lot of work into, and I have to thank Nylles in advance for everything he’s done on this project, the brother is talented. But we wanted to do this project for no other reason but for the people. I know it sounds cliche, but it’s a cool feeling to connect with people who have a love and appreciation for music that I do. I’ve wanted to do a project about the Neptunes for the last couple of years, but I didn’t know where to start. So connecting with Nylles on this might have been fate, or just chance, nonetheless it was welcomed.
So since we figured it would be pretty obnoxious to release over 1,150+ songs at one time, Nylles and I decided to do this collection in volumes, which would be broken up in two different parts. We figured this would give you all time to remove the clutter from your iTunes to make way for it. It will be released bi-weekly, at our discretion, and will include not only collaborative efforts, but original and never before heard songs, tracks from their band N*E*R*D, and an instrumental pack. And you can be sure to catch these projects exclusively on our sites first before you see them on your favorite websites and blogs.
Clutch: The Neptunes. Pharrell Williams & Chad Hugo. A musical force that I can say has easily changed my life in more ways than one. Which is why I wanted to go ahead and be the muscle behind this project because it is something that I’ve wanted to do for a long while. Upon curating this series it took time and a lot of effort to bring it all together but I am grateful that I got Cory’s energy to keep this all going. The Neptunes have worked with almost every artist in pop rock and urban music and their work expands longer than most producers credits and accolades which is why we decided to craft it into a series that will drop every other week. Few have ever tried to attempt a task as big as this, but I’m happy to say that our work has paid off. With that being said, on behalf of Cory and CoryTownes.com and myself of CSNW.
Features and appearances from Lupe Fiasco, Joe, Common, Mystikal, LL Cool J, Wale, Kelis, Usher, Shakira, TI, Madonna, Loon, Clipse, Twista, Jay-Z, Mac Miller, ODB, Cris Cab, Wreckx-N-Effect, Yuna, Teriyaki Boyz, Bow Wow, Fam-Lay, Gucci Mane, Nivea, Snoop, Kenna, Eve, Rosco P. Coldchain, SWV, Mariah Carey, NORE, Ray J, Ice Cube, Buddy, BG, Dr. Dre, Game, Lil Wayne, Solange, Diddy, Faith Evans, Gwen Stefani, Latrelle, Busta Rhymes, MC Lyte, Mansions On The Moon, N*E*R*D, Jennifer Lopez, Vanessa Marquez, Fefe Dobson, Philly’s Most Wanted, Ashlee Simpson and many many more. The Part 2 is dropping in 2 weeks, so enjoy this one until then. So without further adieu, we present The Neptunes, “The Other Side of the Planet”. Tracklist and download after the jump.

June 19th, 2012 | Posted by in Interview | Videos - (0 Comments)As Yuna’s self titled album is out now and the Malaysian singer has a live session with Billboard.com as she performs “Live Your Life” and discusses playing Loolapalooza, the reception from her album, creating it and more.
Second visual from the lovely Yuna off of her self-titled album.
Yuna – See You Go (Produced by Pharrell)
April 25th, 2012 | Posted by in Uncategorized - (2 Comments)Yuna is a new voice (at least to me) but she has had a big push from Pharrell with her latest single “Live With Your Life” which we gave you guys a couple months back but her self titled album is in stores now. I got the chance to listen to it last night and this is one of the records that caught my ears. The house/jazz cut from he debut is pretty catchy, from the drums to the horns to the guitar driven bridge. Can’t wait to throw this on my ipod tonight. Check out the record and let us know what you think.
I’ve also included her performing of “Island” via guitar after the jump as well.
Late Pass on this one. Visuals from Yuna produced by Pharrell isn’t a bad thing. I hope these 2 do more work together in the future. Enjoy.
